Toyota 10000 Truck: Customizable and Hydrogen-Powered Future

The Toyota 10000 Truck, or “Champ” as it’s known in Thailand, offers unparalleled customization. Available in two versions – a flatbed with short hinged sides (MT-AT) and a cab-only option (MT) – the Champ embodies Toyota’s commitment to enhancing lives through personalized vehicles. The flatbed version features bolt holes, enabling users to modify their truck to suit their specific needs.

Toyota Motor Thailand Co., Ltd. (TMT) has partnered with over 100 accessory manufacturers to provide a vast array of customization options. This allows customers to transform their Champ into anything from a mobile shop or food truck to a camper equipped for outdoor adventures. The base model will be manufactured at the Samrong Plant.

While Toyota is dedicated to reducing emissions and achieving carbon neutrality, the company is exploring alternative solutions beyond Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs). Toyota President Akio Toyoda believes a diversified approach is crucial, considering the challenges of establishing a global BEV infrastructure.

Toyoda advocates for exploring options like emission-free synthetic fuels and hydrogen power. He recently highlighted the potential of hydrogen power after driving a hydrogen-powered Toyota Yaris prototype, expressing his astonishment at its performance. This suggests that the Toyota 10000 truck, while currently not available in an electric version, might potentially see a hydrogen-powered variant in the future, reflecting Toyota’s commitment to exploring diverse sustainable solutions. This commitment to hydrogen aligns with Toyota’s broader vision for a multifaceted approach to carbon neutrality, encompassing various technologies rather than solely relying on BEVs.
