Toyota’s commitment to Texas was further solidified in 2019 with a substantial $391 million investment in the Toyota Texas plant. This strategic investment paved the way for Texas to become the exclusive manufacturing hub for both the all-new Tundra and the Sequoia Toyota. The production of the Sequoia Toyota heralds a new era of advanced manufacturing at Toyota Texas. Over 3,800 Toyota employees and 5,300 on-site suppliers dedicated countless hours preparing for its debut. The team implemented groundbreaking manufacturing techniques, including state-of-the-art laser welding technology and an enhanced production process to handle the largest sheet of metal ever used in Toyota’s history.
The all-new 2023 Toyota Sequoia lives up to its powerful namesake, boasting a striking new design, premium comfort, and advanced technology, all while achieving an ideal balance of performance and efficiency. To mark the significance of the Sequoia Toyota’s new home, Toyota Texas demonstrated its commitment to the local community by donating a total of $100,000 to the San Antonio River Foundation and the San Antonio Parks Foundation.
