Discover the Reinvented 2013 Toyota RAV4: Pricing, Features, and More

The 2013 Toyota RAV4 marked a significant leap forward for the original crossover SUV, bringing a fresh design, enhanced fuel efficiency, and a host of new features to the market. Toyota Motor Sales (TMS) U.S.A., Inc. announced the Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Prices (MSRP) for this all-new, fourth-generation RAV4, emphasizing its commitment to value, performance, and capability. Arriving at dealerships in early January 2013, the 2013 RAV4 aimed to redefine the crossover segment once again.

A Bold New Design and Interior Comfort

The 2013 Toyota RAV4 showcased a dynamic and agile design, a departure from its predecessor. This fourth-generation model boasts strong proportions, a sleek roofline, and assertive character lines, creating a more progressive silhouette. Moving away from the traditional side-hinged rear door, the 2013 RAV4 adopted a more convenient roof-hinged liftgate, with the spare tire smartly stored under the cargo floor to maximize space.

Inside, the 2013 RAV4 offers a comfortable and premium feel for five passengers across two rows. Soft-touch accents and driver-centric controls enhance the cabin’s appeal, ensuring both driver and passengers enjoy a refined experience.

Performance and Fuel Efficiency of the 2013 RAV4

Under the hood, every 2013 RAV4 is equipped with a fuel-efficient 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine paired with a new six-speed automatic transmission. This combination delivers a balance of performance and economy, further enhanced by a new Eco mode designed to optimize fuel consumption.

For front-wheel-drive models, the EPA-estimated fuel efficiency is an impressive 24 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway. All-wheel-drive models also achieve commendable figures, with EPA estimates of 22 mpg city and 29 mpg highway. The 2013 RAV4 also introduced a Sport Mode with Dynamic Torque Control AWD, along with suspension and electric power steering enhancements, promising a more engaging and dynamic driving experience.

2013 RAV4 Trim Levels: LE, XLE, and Limited

To cater to a variety of needs and budgets, the 2013 RAV4 was offered in three well-equipped trim levels: LE, XLE, and Limited. Each trim was available in both front-wheel and all-wheel drive configurations. Toyota focused on providing great value by including a comprehensive list of standard features in each grade, minimizing the need for complex option packages and simplifying the buying process.

The base LE grade already includes features like privacy glass, color-keyed door handles, 17-inch steel wheels with covers, a color-keyed rear spoiler, and a 6.1-inch display audio unit with a integrated backup camera. Options for the LE were kept simple, with just roof rails and a tonneau cover available.

Stepping up to the XLE grade added 17-inch alloy wheels, a tilt/slide power moonroof, fog lamps, dual-zone automatic climate control, and premium bucket seats with sport bolstering. The only option for the XLE was an upgraded Display Audio system with Navigation and Entune.

The premium Limited grade came standard with luxurious features such as a height-adjustable power liftgate, Premium SofTex seating, an eight-way power driver’s seat with memory, and heated front seats. Optional upgrades for the Limited included Display Audio with Navigation and Entune, a further enhanced Display Audio system with Navigation, Entune, and JBL sound, and a Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross Traffic Alert for added safety.

Across all 2013 RAV4 models, the standard Display Audio system featured a 6.1-inch touchscreen, AM/FM/CD, Bluetooth® connectivity, USB and AUX mini-jack, and six speakers, all illuminated with Clear Blue Illumination for a unified and modern aesthetic. This system provided access to audio, HVAC settings, navigation (on equipped models), and the Entune™ multimedia suite.
